The Cutting Edge

There is a brand new challenge out there created by  Jackie Rockwell - I am sure you know her - she is a dynamo when it comes to creating challenges! Its called: Right now there is a GDT search and I am trying to just squeeze in here at the last moment with this card: The challenge is to CASE a card from the inspiration cards below: As you can see I chose Amy Kollings card - at the left bottom, just because I liked it, had little time and I remembered those already put together die cuts in my snippets pile from a prior card (see HERE ). I added the flowers - also left over scraps and Paper Candi. The die cuts are Papertrey Beautiful Blooms and Rainbow Stripes. The sentiment is Paper Smooches - Sentiment sampler. And, since it involved so many snippets its going into the Snippets Playground ! And Paper Smooches has anything goes this week - I know, its only the sentiment this time...... Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

Make It Monday #16 - Chalk and Stamps with Impression Plates

I made this card fo rthe  Make It Monday #16   from Papertrey. The theme issCombining Chalk and Stamps with Impression Plates.  Melissa  explaines in a fabulous video how to do that. I causes this great effect and I love how this card turned out. Papertrey   I took that polka dot embossing plate by Papertrey and added chalk in various shades of pink and purple. I then stamped on it with the Dot Spot set. The sentiment is from the Papertrey set Cutting Garden. The die cuts I used fro the sentiment are also by PTI. I added some Stickles. Not sure why, since the card looked pretty good without it. Here are some more shots to show you the texture of this card better: I am also submitting this card to the AAA challeng e . Of course I had the colors in mind when I chose them for this card.      And lastly this card will join the Snippets Playground - sentiment papers taken from my ever growing snippets pile... ...

Addicted to CAS and OLS

Addicted to CAS ' theme this week is TRANSPORT - so I thought about air travel, since soon I'll go on my yearly trip to Germany.... I made myself a stencil for the clouds with punches and sponged them. The airplane is Recollections stamps, which I heat embossed in white. The sentiment is from the same set.  I drew a partial frame around it, since I thought it needed something to make it complete.  I am also adding this card to the One Layer simplicity challenge  - I 've Been Framed Hope you like it and thanks for visiting my blog today!

Dream Valley - Monochromatic

Hi Everybody, its time again for a new challenge at Dream Valley!  For the next two weeks the theme is MONOCHROMATIC!  I used the bleach blocking technique to make my background using distress inks. I die cut the flower sprig out of the inked up card stock and colored it with Copcs in the same color range. I then cut a second one in white, which I inlaid into the card. The sentiment is by STAMPlorations -Sentiment Builder HAPPY. I also used their wonderful set Artful Flutters, and added a little bit of glimmer to the wings, but it does not show in the picture..... So play along with us! The winner will get a $20 gift voucher for The Paper Shelter.  If you are looking for fun, cute and lovely digi stamps for your paper-crafting or web design projects,  The Paper Shelter  is your one-stop boutique! This growing catalogue of high-quality digi stamps with many different kind of options offers a multitude of the...

Fusion

Did you see that inspiration picture at the  Fusion  challenge? You probably did. I wanted to play ..... This si so up my alley with those rbight colors! Finally I found the time...... I used my new MFT stamp sets - NBUS (never before used schtuff), as Darnell from djcardkreations  would call it. By the way - she has a challenge going on over there for exactly that - get your NBUS out there - you bought it to USE it, right? Stamped in various colors and added some black paper strips on the side - to combine the colors with the sketch. Colored in the "YOU" and added those lovely enamel dots.  Steckenpferdchen  - a German challenge blog has chevron as a theme right now - of course I had that in mind, when I chose my stamps......and since there are some snippets involved I am also linking this with Di's Snippets Playground - another worthwhile blog to visit. I use snippets so frequently - I am always over there.... I am also linking this card with...

You Mean the World to Me

I made this card for the current CAS Colours and Sketches challenge and wanted to combine it with the MFT sketch challenge, but I did not manage to finish it in time for the latter. Oh well..... I used my brand new MFT die for this - the sentiment is part of it, but I only cut the world and used the  rest as a stencil. All the die cuts are snippets- therefor I am also linking this up with the Snippets Playground.  Thanks for visiting. Sorry for the ultra short post, one of those days I'll have more time again.....

TAWS - BIC#53

Its rainbow colors over at TAWS  - they always work! Love their inspiration photo, although it took me a while to come up with something. The bird brain set came to the rescue - that little bird is just so cute. As you see I stamped it repeatedly and colored it in the same order as the inspiration photo.  Added glossy accents to the beaks and some Paper Candi, to give it some shine, just as in the inspiration picture. The sentiment is from the Bitty Borders set by TAWS, of course.  I am also linking this card with the Snippets Playground  - use a snippet (white paper strip) Darnells NBUS challenge (Bitty borders set) - if you don't know Darnell you have to hop over to her wonderful playhouse - she is celebrating her 500 blog follower - go and join her - I can't wait for her 600 follower celebration ;) She has an amazing blog - instructive, funny, just full of goodies! Thanks for taking the time to visit!

Little Tangles #38

Little Tangle s has such a happy inspiration photo this week - I had to make a happy card..... .... and I am happy with it, too! The yellow in the card looks kind of orange in the photo, oh well... I used that fun set Everyday Labels from Neat &Tangled to make this card. Added a stripe of rainbow paper and colorful splatters I am also linking this card with  Seize the Birthday    - option summer - I think those colors are really summery! Thanks for visiting and all your wonderful comments - you know they make me happy!
