Periodic Luck and Raindrops


Its LUCK over at CASology - took me a while to come up with something......



I took this from the periodic table of the elements - choosing Lutetium, Carbon and Potassium. I composed it and printed this out with my ancient printer. In case you are wondering about the pig - pigs are supposed to bring you good luck in Germany ( so called Gluecksschwein - I am German, in case you don't know). The sentiment is from a Hero Arts Christmas set called Merriest Wishes - I only used a part of it.....The little piggy is one of those $1 Michaels stamps and the arrow is Heidi Swap - another steal from Michaels

And just that you don't think I am that brilliant - I got the inspiration from a pretty ugly lunch bag, that I found  by chance on the internet...

And now I have a  second card to share. I made this for The Kraft Journal. Their inspiration picture really grabbed me and I wanted to take part in their challenge. My original idea did not work, neither did my second try, but on the third (.....or fourth) I was successful! 


I just LOVE how this turned out!


I used Ryns' Raindrop set, stamped it on water color paper and colored it with water color pencils. I fuzzy cut the drops and glued them onto Kraft paper. The sentiment is by Close to my Heart (You are my Happy) - I bent it a bit. 


In addition I am adding this card to the Snippets playground - those drops were stamped on a thin left over strip of water color paper and by the way, the piggy on the first card also was a snippet, of course....

Totally lovely RAINDROP dear Cornelia...looks like it is a real one woohoo...and yes in Germany Schwein bring glueck or it bring lucky hehe...I pass this time with the challenge theme LUCK I have no idea and no idea to make a CAS card instead of CAS I made a complicated wedding card...ich hoffe du hast Zeit zu meinem Blog zu besucht...LG, deine Monika

First of all, I think you ARE brilliant, Cornelia! I wouldn't have thought to create a card after seeing that lunch bag...such a clever and fun take on your inspiration! And the pig is just fabulous! My ancestors are German (I always love to brag about that), so I learned something today :)

I also really love how you created your 2nd card! What a cool idea to create water drops with 'water color' paper! They look really shiny and awesome on the Kraft background, too! Great take on the inspiration photo!

Wow, Cornelia, I'm so glad I stopped by to see your sweet card because I learned a whole lot from your post! My father's family came from Germany, but I had never heard that pigs were considered lucky. Who knew?! I also love that you used the periodic table to spell out "luck"...I love the inspiration photo, too! So glad you joined us at CASology this week!

You coloured those drops? They look so dimensional. Did you add anything to make them shiny? (Glossy accents or other). Brilliant take on the inspiration image! Thanks for your kind comment on my KIS! Lecker card.

Katzelkraft - Stampotique Raven

Hi Everyone, Do you know that   Katzelkraft has aquired Stampotique stamps? This fun raven is designed by Daniel Torrente (#6314). Suzanne's Surprise Blog Hop

Combined So Suzy and The Ton Blog Hop

Hi Everyone, I am sooooo excited to be part of this amazing event - a combined hop between So Suzy Stamps and The Ton! I have been eyeing The Ton stamps and dies for quite a while - they are just gorgeous! And So Suzy - well you have seen their stamps on my blog - they are simply fabulous! I also love that they are made from rubber - its different stamping with them. Its much better for generational stamping and they don't stick to your paper when you use your Misti. You may have arrived from the fabulous  Eunji - its a hard act to follow her.... I got those gorgeous  Peonies Dies  from The Ton and die cut them with water color paper. Spritzed Dylusion inks on a sheet of plastic and dipped the dies into the colors. Mounted them onto black card stock. Added the So Suzy Birthday sentiment - heat embossed in white.
