So Suzy - Fancy Butterfly

Hi Everyone,

I finally own this wonderful lacy butterfly from So Suzy - it was on my wishlist from the very beginning, but patience pays off...

Of course I HAD to use it!

My stamps supplies:

And that is how I started:

Heat embossed the butterfly with WOW embossing powder onto acetate and colored the back with alcohol inks.

Fussy cut it and added the sentiment to the bottom of my card. Selected the stencil - its on of those beautiful iStencils, some of which you can also get at So Suzy's.

Sponged distress inks onto the stencil using the same colors as for the butterfly.

Propped up the butterfly with thick foam tape

Added Nuvo drops - this is the clear one, called Morning Dew.

I just love how this turned out! Having the light shine through those lacy wings and reflect onto the card stock is magical!

I hope you like it as much as I do!

Oh My Gawd, Oh My Gawd, Oh My Gawd. You think your happy with how this turned...I'm ecstatic. Dear heaven...it's downright fantastic. Such a brilliant idea to use the alcohol inks on the embossed acetate to achieve that ethereal look butterflies always have. Then that multi-colored stencilling to add movement and enhance the already gorgeous butterfly. This amazing card is exactly why I stalk your blog, dear friend.

I love the intricacy of that die, Cornelia. I'm glad you showed us what you did because I though the color was a separate piece, not embossed acetate. I need to put that technique in my memory bank. You ended up with the most fabulous card.

Katzelkraft - Stampotique Raven

Hi Everyone, Do you know that   Katzelkraft has aquired Stampotique stamps? This fun raven is designed by Daniel Torrente (#6314). I used an old background from my stashs.  I stamped the bird and colored it with alcohol ink markers.  I brushed distrss ink onto the background and added some pattern with the   Mandala Magic stencil  from Funky Fossil Designs.I used one of the border stamps on the left for more interest.  Stamped the sentiment  and doodled a frame around the sentiment.Added a googly eye to the bird and drew in some eye lashes.  The stamps I used are from the following sets: Spiral Borders - KTZ286,  Whatchamacallit  - KTZ276  (FRANCE) Spiral Borders  - KTZ286 , Whatchamacallit  - KTZ276 (USA) Hope you liked this - I'll be back next Wednesday with more Katzelkraft inspiration.  Thanks for visiting! Happy Stamping! Linking up with: Simon Says Wednesday challenge  - fur or feathers
