Moxie Fab - Trendy Triangles

I do have to sneak in one card, while I am on vacation - I made it ahead of time and as long I still have email access I guess I just post it....   For anyone who is interested - I am in Calgary right now. I did an extensive day of sight-seeing and had a great time. My husband and son are playing in a Magic card tournament, so I had the day for myself.    --X--   A while back I made a card that left me with lots of  little almost triangular shapes - and I so hate throwing things out.....so finally I could put those triangles into good use: Its always a little tricky gluing little things closely together, but in the end it pays off, I think! The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday (Ali Edwards) and the triangle line is from Mama Elephant - Trifecta. I only used part of the sentiment, therefor the little black dots in the letter A..... or should I not have pointed this out? I also thought about coloring it in, but in the end...

TAWS #33 combined with KIS #19

I will be leaving for Canada this afternoon, but I thought I'll play once more, before my break..... so I needed something CAS, and what better to play in than those two challenges?  The Alley Way stamps Keep it Simple Make it three - it also fits the   Moxie Fab Birthday card challenge . Materials: TAWS - Bird Brain, TAWS - Jibber Jabber for the sentiment, some twine, patterned paper and Copics                                  --X-- I also wanted to share a card with you: Oh my, what a masterpiece! Doerthe - her blog is Flos Habseligkeiten  made that for me - we had a little craft supply exchange. She send me this beautiful rainbow paper from Germany - you can't get that in the US and I send her some wobblers. Go visit her blog - she already made a great card with it - my rain bow card has to wait..... I wish you all a great week -...

Papertrey July 2013 Blog Hop #2

Papertrey July 2013 Blog Hop - again I feel like I am taking part in a scramble - but there is not much time left.... So here is the inspiration picture for my second card: And here is my card: This one was super easy! I took my Melon Melody Kaleidocolor ink pad, shoved the ink strips together and swiped it over semi glossy card stock paper and let it dry. I glued a strip of colored paper on either side and mounted it on white card stock. Then I stamped the sentiment on top (Papertrey Think Big Favorites) and attached three sequins with glossy accents.  I am also linking this card up withe the Moxie Fab Birthday card challenge . So much for tonight, now I have to do some other chores....Have a good night everybody!

Papertrey July 2013 Blog Hop

Today is blog hop day  at Papertrey   yeahh! And again there are delicious color choices.... For my first card I choose this picture and combined it with the challenge that's going on right now at Crazy for CAS , for which I choose this sketch from challenge #16:                And that is the card that came out of this: I masked the squares, die cut the flowers, colored them with ink pads and embellished them with little link circles and a drop of glossy accents. The sentiment is from the Papertrey Happy Trails set. I added 3 dots of liquid pearls. I am going to work on my second card now...

CASology #54 - Gold

It's the  one-year anniversary at CASology - CONGRATULATIONS! I have a card for you Ladies - I hope you like it, I sure do......It certainly was simple to make. And it is kind of CAS... I had this paper with gold on it now basically forever lying around. I mounted it on black card stock and stamped it with and old Stampin' up set called Stem Silhouettes. The sentiment is from Hero Arts Sending Smiles Messages.    I am also linking this card up with the Moxie Fab Birthday card challenge . I am pressed for time..... more in my next post! PS: The paper is called Joss paper , as Joy   let me know - thanks Joy!

AEI♥U

The July challenge is still going on at Avery Elle  and below you see the inspiration photo. I finally own some Avery Elle stamps, although I hardly used any for this challenge.... I cut out strips of colored card stock, adhered them to white card stock and put a clear acrylic sheet behind the colored strips. It was kind of hard to photograph this card, but I think with three different views you get how it looks like... I like the middle view best, where the light reflects off the acrylic.... The sets I used were Bright Days and To the Point. --X-- Ahhh, you guys seem to like my Germany pictures - I have gotten some very nice comments about them - thank you all, I love your comments :) So here are some more pics - this time as collages. We - my son and friends of us took the train to Tegernsee and hiked up the Baumgartenschneid, which is 1444 m high. The weather was not great, so we did not have a good view, but we enjoyed ourselves nonetheless! ...

Make It Monday #126: 3D Die-cut Sentiments

This is the coolest technique! You have to check out Betsy Veldman's video over at Make it Monday ! She made the coolest card!!!! The die she used lend it self a little better to the technique than the one I used here, but it did come out okay I think......although the technique is a little tricky - takes some practice.... There is no stamping on the card - I never made one of those.... I continued the 3-D strip in the background, this added additional dimension. I just love this technique! Materials: Papertrey Hello Die, Memory Box Chloe Stem die, Copics --X-- I hope you are not getting sick and tired looking at my vacation pictures - but if you are, don't scroll down any further :) - there are some more..... This time they all show store signs in my hometown: I hope you enjoyed them, have a great day!

Festive Friday #13

Hello Friends, it has ever so slightly cooled off here in new Jersey, although that much needed rain did not really happen. My garden is thirsty.... I will have to start watering soon.... The humidity dropped, too and that makes it more bearable. So I climbed up the stair into my card room and tried to cool off with a Christmas card....Isn't that inspiration picture delicious? I pulled out my mod tree die from Memory box, dry embossed white card stock with it and then die cut it in silvery, shimmer card stock.                    The sentiment is from Hero Arts Decorate your Holidays. The little pink dots I made with the Memory Box Bubble Joy die (also a shimmer paper) and the pink star is from a Papertrey die. It was kind of a pain to glue on all those little dots, but in the end it was worth it - what do you think? This card I'll put into the Festive Friday challenge  and ...

House of Cards

The summer heat and work made a significant dent into my card making.... My craft room is on the top floor and there is no air conditioning..... I could not get myself to go in there the last couple of days. Never mind, that I was swamped with work anyhow and my evenings were occupied with work.....but today I tackled a card that I knew exactly how I wanted it to be, so it would not take too long to make. I used watercolor paper and colored it as you can see, using distress ink and a brush. I sprinkled water droplets on it once it was dry. The flower is a die cut from Memory Box (Fresh Daisies die - Simon Says), the sentiment is Papertrey - Dress Form. Some twine and pearls and  voila' - I will be linking this card up with  House of Cards challenge - classic and elegant. And I am also linking this card with Top 1  - Stempelgaudi  - link up your favorite card from the previous month - there is a prize to win in addition to the fun loo...
