Topflight Stamps - Fall Scene with Lavinia Stamps

Hi Everyone, This week the theme is "fall/autumn" at the  Topflight blog . And fall is all about mushrooms for me. Time to ink up those beautiful Lavinia stamps! I made the background with distress inks. I brushed it with a variety of greens and brown at the bottom. I stamped my little scene onto the background. I then also stamped the center mushroom onto scrap paper and colored it. I then cut it out and added it.  I added white accents and some "grass" to the bottom with a fanned brush.  I hope you liked this. Thanks for visiting.  See you next week with more  Topflight Stamps  inspiration. And here are the stamp supplies I used:  Millie and Munch ,  Forest Inn Spotty Toadstool , Slender Mushrooms Mini Forest Mushroom ,  Versafine Clair Fan Brush ,  Blender Brushes Linking up with: Stamping Sensations  - anything stamped/CAS Simon Says Wednesday challenge   Simon Says Monday challenge

Katzelkraft - Inspired by Karl Valentin IV

Hi Everyone, I am back with my weekly Katzelkraft post. I am a huge fan of  Karl Valentin  (1842-1948) a Bavarian comedian. He said a lot of funny as well as profound things and is still well known to this date. There is a little museum in Munich dedicated to him - definitely a worthwhile visit if you visit Munich and speak German...... This card uses one of his famous sayings. It translates into "Blessed are those who have nothing to say, and keep quiet nonetheless". I just love his kind of humor. I used one of the backgrounds from my stash. I thought this weird figure with his closed mouth is perfect for the illustration. I used alcohol ink markers to color it and cut it out.  Cut the sentiment apart, drew a frame around it and added it to my card.  The stamps I used are from the following sets: Les Marins - KTZ226 (FRANCE) Sea Creatures - KTZ226   (USA) Hope you liked this - I'll be back next Wednesday with more Katzelkraft inspiration.  Thanks fo...
