Topflight Stamps - Darkroom Door Background Stamps

Hi Everyone,

It's Topflight Stamps day!
This week's focus is on Darkroom Door Background Stamps.

I used this wonderful butterfly background by Darkroom Door stamps. I used the iron-off ink resist technique. I used watercolor paper. I inked the stamp with Versamark and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Sponged ink in rainbow colors over the butterflies. The heat embossing resists the ink. I took a second piece of cardstock and placed it onto the inked up one and used my iron, to iron off the embossing powder and transfer it to the second cardstock. There is a wonderful video by Jennifer McGuire that you can watch HERE. She explains it much better than I do....

Added the big butterfly and the sentiment.

And here is the second card I got out of this:

You can see a bit of the rainbow colors, that transferred over. Used black soot distress ink to sponge  over the background. Again, you see that the embossing powder acts as a resists. I finished it off with the big butterfly and some sparkly gemstones.

I hope you liked this! See you next week with more Topflight Stamps inspiration.

Two really great cards, Cornelia. The first one in so characteristic for you vibrant colors. The second is very interesting for its background, somewhat blurred. Amazing card, love it. A great use of all the elements used in the creation, nothing is wasted. Bravo

Very cool. I really like the bits of color against the soot background. I'm going to give this a go, too!

You did an amazing job demonstrating this cool technique, Cornelia! Thank you for the link to Jennifer's site, but I understood what you did and it looks like magic. It must be fun to lift the paper after ironing and see the result! The black ink really makes the transferred embossing pop and I love how the rainbow colors of the butterfly bring out the hint of colors in the background. Your original design with the blended rainbow colors in the background and large b/w butterfly is sensational! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #29! I hope you are keeping well, my friend! Hugs, Darnell

Jaw-dropping cards, Cornelia. That technique is so cool, though I'd probably end up starting a fire, lol! The colors are gorgeous both on the background of your first card, and in the butterfly on your second card. Both are just beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing at The Twofer Challenge. Stay safe, Bev.

What a brilliant technique, Cornelia ... wonderfully executed! Love how you created mirror images, reversing the monochrome and vibrant rainbow colours on each card! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Hugs, Anita :)

Easter Egg and Bunny

Hi Everyone, I made a bunch of Easter cards, after all its little more than one month and I need to send them out in time... You see, they are all similar - using both the die cut and the negative, that I cut from a die cut egg. The cute bunnies got their yearly appearance - they are from Impression Obsession. the egg is by Lifestyle Crafts. The sentiment is by Papertrey. And here are bigger photos from this set: Linking up with Creative with Stamps - Easter The Paper Players - die cutting Die Cut Divas - animals Happy Little Stampers - anything goes with dies

Dynamic Duos combined with CAS Colours and Sketches

I am getting the hang of combining challenges....not sure if that's good or bad... In the past I would just put all my "creative energy" into one challenge and then just link up with others, if the card just happened to fit...but now I do that on purpose. Well, I'll see how it goes....                           Anyhow here is the card that came out of this: I did not want to add a sentiment - I 'll add it later, when I know who will get it. Mirror Image Stamping with So Suzy and the MISTI

Hi Everyone, I am so happy to be part of this wonderful event - the collaboration between So Suzy and the MISTI from My Sweet Petunia doing mirror image stamping.  This event is going on for the ENTIRE  MONTH! We are demonstrating the  Mirror Image Stamp    which coordinates with the Misti Stamping Tool! All month long, different bloggers will post a card using the  Mirror Image Stamp .  In my tutorial today, I will show you how use the  Mirror Image Stamp  on your cards. You can basically double your stamp supplies that way! The  mirror image stamp  is  a 4.25" x 5.5" piece of red rubber with no foam backing. So much larger than the other mirror image stamps out there and therefore much more useful! Mirror Image stamp ,  Two Cats in a Tree If you want a video tutorial on how to do this I can highly recommend you watch THIS VIDEO on youtube. Explains it all in very little time! Or you can see the same thing on my photo tutorial. With mirror
