Crackerbox & Suzy Stamps combined with iStencil

Hi Everybody,

Some of the products I have used have been provided to me from various companies I design for. Affiliate links may be used in the links provided below.

I usually stay out of politics on my blog, but this is not the time to remain quiet. If you don't like my post and cannot stomach it or you disagree, please feel free to unfollow.

As some of you probably know I deeply support justice, equity and diversity. The current events I feel are necessary and long overdue. We can not discriminate on the basis of skin color or anything else! After all diversity is what makes us unique and special and wouldn't it be boring, if we all would be the same?
Out of my beliefs I created this card.

Crackerbox & Suzy Stamps has this amazing American Flag in the store. I first inked it up in grey and then again in blue and red, according to the flag colors. But this way it stays subdued. I added this wonderful stencil to the bottom of the flag. It is from iStencil and you can find it HERE.

I did not think this cards needs a sentiment - it speaks for itself.

In case you want to learn more about the origins of racism I can strongly recommend you read "Stamped from the Beginning" by Ibram X. Kendi. If you want to educate yourself about the justice system in America a good read is "Just Mercy" by Bryan Stevenson. I that is too heavy, a captivating novel about racial inequality is "Small Great Things" by Jodi Picoult., to just mention a few great reads.

Here are the 20% off stamp sale categories:
The card technique is MASK.
No photo description available.

You can get $5.00 store credit once a week. Each month we will have several categories on sale for 20% OFF and a technique for that month. All you have to do is make a card with at least one stamp from the sales category and use the technique (in June its "stencil") and
Vicky will put $5.00 on your store account and leave you a comment that it is done. We can't wait to see your creative work!

I understand perfectly why you could not bear it and had to comment on such an important issue. There are situations when we cannot remain silent because that would mean agreement. I think exactly the same as you, Cornelia. And your card is very meaningful, it doesn't need words to move!
Hugs,

Great post with a good message and I love the design of the card.

Well said, sister. This amazing card kind of says exactly what I feel. I am a proud patriot that knows this country has to do better in order to survive. There is no skin color, there is just humanity and we all need to step up and insure that that is how we act. Thanks for the heads up on the books. My weekend shopping will include them

Love your card and your statement!!! Love it when I find crafty friends with the same outlook!!!
Dear Cornelia: This is one AMAZING post and your gorgeous card depicts exactly the state of our Country these days.
I also have avoided being political on my blog but this time, I have not kept quiet.
I'm an immigrant from Mexico since 1973 when I married my husband, his family had been here since 1970.
I've been an American Citizen since 1982 and personally, I've been harassed both at airports and by police both in Chicago and here in NW Indiana because of my name and for where I came from, even when I show a passport and drivers license.
I totally agree with you, diversity is what makes this Country amazing, the different cultures, history, traditions, food, music, folklore and art each one of us brings only enriches anyone who is exposed to it.
In order NOT to live in fear of people who look different, we must first learn about them, don't believe made-up stories spawn out of ignorance and hate, which are the perfect ingredients to create fear.
Thank you for the book suggestions, reading is another wonderful way to get a better perspective on our world.
Stay healthy and safe.
XO
Maria.

I just saw this card and almost cried, then I was mad, then now back to terrified. Your card says it all Cornelia. So well done. Just had to comment.

Stunning card. I completely understand the emotion. It saddens me that so many people are choosing hate & fear over understanding & progress. Thank you!

Hi Everyone, I made a bunch of Easter cards, after all its little more than one month and I need to send them out in time... You see, they are all similar - using both the die cut and the negative, that I cut from a die cut egg. The cute bunnies got their yearly appearance - they are from Impression Obsession. the egg is by Lifestyle Crafts. The sentiment is by Papertrey. Dynamic Duos combined with CAS Colours and Sketches

I am getting the hang of combining challenges....not sure if that's good or bad... In the past I would just put all my "creative energy" into one challenge and then just link up with others, if the card just happened to fit...but now I do that on purpose. Well, I'll see how it goes....                           Anyhow here is the card that came out of this: I did not want to add a sentiment - I 'll add it later, when I know who will get it. And here is a close -up: Challenges: Dynamic Duos CAS Colours and Sketches Addicted to Stamps and More Amusing Challenges Materials: Papertrey Background Basics: Super Stripes, Memory Box Chloe Stem die. --X-- Card for Maddy: You may know already about  Maddy ,  who  was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and went through chemotherapy treatment followed by a stem cell transplant from her (then) fifteen year old sister Melanie.  She now has a relapse and this car
