Uniko Challenge

Hi Everyone,

I finally own some Uniko stamps, thanks to my recent win and a generous gift certificate from Beverly, the sweet owner of Uniko stamps. I would own more stamps, if the shipping costs would not be so high....oh well, what am I complaining? I am lucky to live here in the US where most stamp companies are located....

Of course I had to use that stunning Gerbera for my card - I have had my eyes on this set literally forever! The theme for the Uniko challenge is metallics. I heat embossed in gold (WOW embossing powder) and then colored in the two outline images with my gold pigment watercolors. I then cut away the left hand corner of the black card stock, to lighten up the card a bit and used a scrap piece of an envelope liner. The sentiment is from the same set, heat embossed in white.

Its dazzling!!! What an absolutely amazing effect the gold has on the black!! And the small piece of BnW stripes really fits so well!! An amazing card, Cornelia! Absolutely love it!!
PS: I didn't even realize the flowers in the behind were watercolored in gold! What a perfect fit! :)

Oh wow this is absolutely stunning!! I love your gold floral against the black!! I'm with you, I don't normally buy stamps out of the country...there are too many stamps right here in the U.S. But I have been tempted MANY times!! LOL!! :)

Gosh Cornelia - you really have taken that Gerbera stamp set to new heights. This is fabulous!LOVE the gold and so very elegant too.

Well done on owning some Uniko stamps, although I do so agree that many of the best stamps are USA ones. For some reason though, it's becoming easier to get those in the UK without paying massive shipping costs and also running the risk of our tax folk stinging one for import duty before they will even deliver the goods. AND, our Post Office slaps an £8 fee on top which is disgusting. So I'm really careful if I ever do feel I absolutely must order from overseas. That's one reason I waited for so long to buy a Misti - thankfully a couple of online UK companies import them, at long last. It's no wonder I went berserk craft shopping when we were in New Mexico! Almost ended up tossing out clothes to make room for more stuff in the baggage :) Rant over :)

Hugs

Stunning! I, too, have that set...NBUS! You've given me incentive to schedule a play date with it! I hear you about shipping rates, as I'm subjected to them in every direction. Of late, the border folks have also been slapping on additional customs AND postage from orders from the US. The former I get (begrudgingly...) but the latter? I've already paid shipping, so being dinged twice = grrrr. I need to be more careful and definitely more frugal! I discovered a craft-supplies gal in Calgary who is now carrying Altenew, Mama Elephant and LF (along with many other products), so I can order and pick up from her. No shipping. She, and the gal in Edmonton, will be getting my business (although I am on a spending freeze now...too much buying of late).

Dazzling, Cornelia ... what a stunner ... you've made this beautiful gerbera shine! I have this set too ... thanks for the awesome inspiration! Hugs, Anita :)
I really like how you structured this card! I love that you made the flower coming up from the bottom and corner of the card instead of placed in the center. It is so fresh and unique and you've done a really masterful job with making it look elegant. Thank you so much for sharing your work with us here at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog!

Easter Egg and Bunny

Hi Everyone, I made a bunch of Easter cards, after all its little more than one month and I need to send them out in time... You see, they are all similar - using both the die cut and the negative, that I cut from a die cut egg. The cute bunnies got their yearly appearance - they are from Impression Obsession. the egg is by Lifestyle Crafts. The sentiment is by Papertrey. And here are bigger photos from this set: Linking up with Creative with Stamps - Easter The Paper Players - die cutting Die Cut Divas - animals Happy Little Stampers - anything goes with dies

Dynamic Duos combined with CAS Colours and Sketches

I am getting the hang of combining challenges....not sure if that's good or bad... In the past I would just put all my "creative energy" into one challenge and then just link up with others, if the card just happened to fit...but now I do that on purpose. Well, I'll see how it goes....                           Anyhow here is the card that came out of this: I did not want to add a sentiment - I 'll add it later, when I know who will get it. And here is a close -up: Challenges: Dynamic Duos CAS Colours and Sketches Addicted to Stamps and More Amusing Challenges Materials: Papertrey Background Basics: Super Stripes, Memory Box Chloe Stem die. --X-- Card for Maddy: You may know already about  Maddy ,  who  was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and went through chemotherapy treatment followed by a stem cell transplant from her (then) fifteen year old sister Melanie.  She now has a relapse and this car

Mirror Image Stamping with So Suzy and the MISTI

Hi Everyone, I am so happy to be part of this wonderful event - the collaboration between So Suzy and the MISTI from My Sweet Petunia doing mirror image stamping.  This event is going on for the ENTIRE  MONTH! We are demonstrating the  Mirror Image Stamp    which coordinates with the Misti Stamping Tool! All month long, different bloggers will post a card using the  Mirror Image Stamp .  In my tutorial today, I will show you how use the  Mirror Image Stamp  on your cards. You can basically double your stamp supplies that way! The  mirror image stamp  is  a 4.25" x 5.5" piece of red rubber with no foam backing. So much larger than the other mirror image stamps out there and therefore much more useful! Mirror Image stamp ,  Two Cats in a Tree If you want a video tutorial on how to do this I can highly recommend you watch THIS VIDEO on youtube. Explains it all in very little time! Or you can see the same thing on my photo tutorial. With mirror
