Happy Valentine's Day and Hello to My New Members!

Happy Valentine's Day to all of you out there!!!!

I made some appropriate cards for the occasion, which I show you a little further down. but first I want to welcome my new members - it has been over due, I know..... so in the order of joining:

Kara Lynne from Kara Lynne's Card Designs
Karen Hasheck from Karens Kreative Kards
Lena from Lena Johansen

A warm welcome my new members  - great to have you with me and hopefully you'll be happy with my cards and you'll stay on! I appreciate everyone of you - so sorry, if I can't comment on all your creations - I try, but my day is only 24 hours long and some of those I have to work or sleep...I wish I had 48 hours....

But I don't want to take up too much of your time, so here is your welcome picture:

It is by Olafur Eliasson and titeled "Whenever the Rainbow Appears". It consists of 300 individual paintings that represent the progression of colors in the spectrum of light visible to the human eye. I saw this installation on my visit to the Jerusalem Museum last fall and what a fabulous museum this is! I love color, so this naturally appealed to me. I hope you like it as much as I do!

And now the cards, of course:

For my first card I sponged the bottom corner in pink (distress inks - raspberry and spun sugar) and then die cut the LOVE. I die cut the LOVE again out of white card stock and secured it in there. The "you" is from Avery Elle. I scrunched up and layered some toilet paper and die cut the heart out of those layers, Also die cut a smaller pink felt heart and sewed them onto the card. Added 3 silver beads and a little gem.

Here is a close up of the toilet paper heart layers....

So guess - why toilet paper? Well, that's the requirement at Shopping our Stash - I just love it!!!! I can't resist playing in challenges like that - so much fun!
Also adding this to CASology - Love
Just Add Ink - see inspiration picture below
Artfull Crafts - see picture below

Grab Our Badge!    JAI #250

My second card came out of my first card - see those LOVE letters - I just switched them from one card to the other.....all stamps are by Avery Elle. I did some masking and this is a one layer card, as those are inlaid die cuts. also added Stickles and Wink of Stella to the flowers.

This card will go into following challenges;

CASology - Love
Less is More - One Layer card - Love
Avery Elle - Masking
   Challenge 21

So once more - Happy Valentin's Day ,
hugs and kisses,
mwah!

Gorgeous cards as ever Cornelia ... I was howling about the loo roll though and simply had to skim read to the end thinking you perhaps always use this on cards. Looks amazing ... may have to try it.
Your LIM card is perfect too and glad to see you've used an inlaid die too although the jury is out on whether they are allowed for one layer cards.
Thanks so much for sharing and taking part.

How fabulous to see you at JAI this week, we are so pleased to have you visit!! Your card is stunning and that heart you created is an art piece in itself! And I'm so excited to see that you entered this into the challenge at Artful Crafts. This is run by a craft store in New Zealand that I use ALOT. We don't have many card challenges in NZ, so its nice to be able to support them. And even more awesome to see someone as fabulous as yourself there too!!

Cornelia *waving wildly* My sweet friend, mega apologies for having fallen several posts behind in commenting *hanging head in shame*! I have, however, gazed at, admired and oohed and ahhed over each and every card as they appear in my Feedly! Again, your creative, innovative, thinking-out-side-the-box creations dazzle and delight! I'm going to stand myself in the corner for a bit, then hopefully, get my act together to stay on top of your gallery (blaming my tardiness on new work duties, travel, more travel, more work and overall scatteredness, as I try to adjust to life with a piece missing...). Thank you for understanding and for being such an AMAZING friend! Your cards here are gorgeous; how clever to create
two-from-one, with both being so wonderfully lovely! Toilet paper never looked so stylish! Awesome!

Easter Egg and Bunny

Hi Everyone, I made a bunch of Easter cards, after all its little more than one month and I need to send them out in time... You see, they are all similar - using both the die cut and the negative, that I cut from a die cut egg. The cute bunnies got their yearly appearance - they are from Impression Obsession. the egg is by Lifestyle Crafts. The sentiment is by Papertrey. And here are bigger photos from this set: Linking up with Creative with Stamps - Easter The Paper Players - die cutting Die Cut Divas - animals Happy Little Stampers - anything goes with dies

Dynamic Duos combined with CAS Colours and Sketches

I am getting the hang of combining challenges....not sure if that's good or bad... In the past I would just put all my "creative energy" into one challenge and then just link up with others, if the card just happened to fit...but now I do that on purpose. Well, I'll see how it goes....                           Anyhow here is the card that came out of this: I did not want to add a sentiment - I 'll add it later, when I know who will get it. And here is a close -up: Challenges: Dynamic Duos CAS Colours and Sketches Addicted to Stamps and More Amusing Challenges Materials: Papertrey Background Basics: Super Stripes, Memory Box Chloe Stem die. --X-- Card for Maddy: You may know already about  Maddy ,  who  was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and went through chemotherapy treatment followed by a stem cell transplant from her (then) fiftee...

Mirror Image Stamping with So Suzy and the MISTI

Hi Everyone, I am so happy to be part of this wonderful event - the collaboration between So Suzy and the MISTI from My Sweet Petunia doing mirror image stamping.  This event is going on for the ENTIRE  MONTH! We are demonstrating the  Mirror Image Stamp    which coordinates with the Misti Stamping Tool! All month long, different bloggers will post a card using the  Mirror Image Stamp .  In my tutorial today, I will show you how use the  Mirror Image Stamp  on your cards. You can basically double your stamp supplies that way! The  mirror image stamp  is  a 4.25" x 5.5" piece of red rubber with no foam backing. So much larger than the other mirror image stamps out there and therefore much more useful! Mirror Image stamp ,  Two Cats in a Tree If you want a video tutorial on how to do this I can highly recommend you watch THIS VIDEO on youtube. Explains it all in very little time! Or you can see the...
