Birthday Bash for Shirley

Today is Shirley Bampton's birthday and her fabulous creative friend Maria from Rieslingmama is hosting a linky party for her. Of course I wanted to join in. After all I am a BIG admirer of Shirley and we are on the STAMPlorations team together. In case you don't know, Shirley started to design her own stamps recently and I of course had to use one of hers for her card! So, Happy Birthday Shirley! I hope you have a blast and have many more, 'cause I always love to see what you create! You are one awesome card maker! I wish we could eat that cake together, but unfortunately normally the Atlantic is between us....but right now I am in Israel ...... so not really any closer.... Here is another look of my card. I used the  CityGirl  stamp from STAMPlorations (desigend by Shirley), masked it and sponged around in yellow. Added the  envelope pattern background stamp from Hero Arts and the sentiment. Cut two thin stripes in grey and yellow and added

New Members Welcome and Moxie Fab challenge

Its greet my new members time!  Two lovely ladies have joined my blog - I want to welcome in the order of joining: Sonja K  from The Art of Stamping Vicki from Stamp Smiles You probably know them already, since both have an active blog and make fabulous cards! I am happy you joined me and as customary I picked a welcome picture for you. this is made by  Tom Otterness , who makes fun  bronze statues, some of which can be found in New York City. This is a detail from one of his works (called Amorphophallus Titanum) in the Bronx Botanic Garden. I just love those little creatures in that gigantic plant! I hope you like it, too! --X-- Over at Moxie Fab the WCMD challenge got extended  - I am so happy about this, since I wanted to play - that inspiration picture is so up my alley.....geometric design - what could be better??? This is the picture: I made my card using the Papertrey Harlequin embossing plate, which I partially ran through m

Bug Jar

I made this card for the Moxie Fab - cool canning jar challenge . I gave it a silver lid - to be able to play with the Paper Players this week - just for the pure fun of it! They want us to use silver or gold....And over at Addicted to CAS the requirement is vellum. This card was just pure fun to make! The stamps are from Sparkle N Sprinkle. The water is made with vellum and a touch of Copics, some twine, real easy! The lid I made from metallic silver card stock. Stamped on it with Staz on.  Just in time for the flu season - Gesundheit!

Happy Birthday Debra!

Today is Debra's Birthday - my buddy from STAMPlorations. Her blog is I dream of Color  and if you don't know it yet I recommend you'll pay it a visit - Debra is so creative and yes, she has a way with colors!  Happy Birthday Debra!  Have a great day filled with joy and laughter! Since Debra loves the STAMPlorations cupcake stamp and has done wonderful cards with it, I found her a pretty cupcake on the internet ...... unfortunately I don't have that stamp.... My stamp I made with the brand new   Rosebuds set  from STAMPlorations. I clear embossed it and colored it with Copics. Added some splatters and lastly applied Wink of Stella to the open part of the roses. Does not show well in the photo... The sentiment is from the  Sentiment Builders: Celebrate set, You can  visit  the STAMPlorations blog and see all the other beautiful birthday cards our team created for Debra! Have a great day!

Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge #118

Hi Everyone, Its challenge time at  Addicted to Stamps and More  the theme is HOLIDAY for the next two weeks! I could not resist and choose Halloween - my favorite holiday and its coming up real soon, eeeeek......! Real scary this card, isn't it? I got his cool stamp at the Stamp Expo here in New Jersey in September - I had a lot of fun there, as you can imagine....That fabulous stamp is from Rubbernecker I colored it with Copics and fuzzy cut it. The grey panel I embossed with a Tim Holtz embossing folder and sponged it. "Fitted" it into the monster. Lastly i did not like a totally white background, so I sponged around with lime green ink. Lastly I added glossy accents to the fingernails and teeth. Scary, huh.... Now, our sponsor for the challenge is: http://www.eurekastamps.com/ I hope you come and play with us at ATSM and leave some love on the DT girls blogs - after all they have some fabulous inspiration for you! I am also playin

Quick One Layer Christmas Card

Hi, Cornelia here today, playing with  Joyful .  I made this simple and quick one layer card, that would be easy to mass-produce, if you have a lot of Christmas cards to make. And you know, Christmas is not too far off..... So, lets get started! I stamped the wreath from the  Joyful  set and sponged it, deliberately going outside the stamp. Added the sentiment and colored the berries with red marker. I then masked the sides and sponged again with a slightly lighter green' I then decided that the berries were not red enough and added red and gold Stickles to them.  A small bow to finish it off. Here is a straight on view, but you can't see the Stickles that well. You can also visit the STAMPlorations spotlight post   HERE Happy Stamping!

Stamplorations Sketch Challenge #22

Hi Everyone, its sketch challenge time at STAMPlorations !  You'll see it below, but first my DT card:  You know I love Halloween, so I could not resist..... I was using the  Vignette:  Celebrate Artsy  to make this card - the ghost on the left is the real stamp, the one on the right is the same stamp, but inked up the backside of it. The  sentiments  are from Marhta Stewart and IO. Some sponging to comply  with  the sketch and Washi tape, boo-hoo! Our fabulous guest designer for this challenge is  Leslie  from The Crooked Stamper!  The PRIZE for this challenge: The sketch challenges are sponsored by our sister shop,  All About Scrapping . The winner gets to pick 3 DIGITAL products from the shop — any combination of  printable sheets ,  Photoshop templates , and  digital paper packs . Little Tangles combined with Friday Mashup

When I saw the  Friday Mashup  challenge I knew I had to play! I have in teh past admired those galaxy backgrounds, but had no idea how to make them. but - Friday Mashup provided two links (thanks Ladies!) to youtube videos - one by  Kristina Werner  and one by  Dawn . I did not have the right supplies foe either technique, but I learned enough and kind of made my own with the stuff I had at hand. The other cool coincidence was that  the challenge over at  Little Tangles  is Inspired by the design team. I remembered  Jill  making a card recently (see below), that fit what I had in mind..... So long story short - here is my card: I am quite happy with the result, after all it was my first try.  I used the Neat and Tangled set Time Warp, the sentiment is from A Long time ago. I white embossed them first and while the embossing powder was still hot I added glow in the dark WOW embossing powder to it and embossed it again. And it worked fabulously as you can see: Also a

Make it Monday and Cure the Monday Blues

When I saw the inspiration picture at  Cure for the Monday Blues  and the theme at Make it Monday  I just knew I had to combine them! The fabulous  Danielle Flanders  made a wonderful video showing you how to to gold dipped die cuts. It super easy - all you need is Versamark ink and gold embossing powder. You ink up a part of your die cut with Versamark and then sprinkle embossing powder on  it and heat emboss it. Looks great! Here is a close up All my dies are Papertrey. I did some inlaid die cut technique for the Joy. The trees are mounted on foam tape. Added gold thread. And here is the wonderful inspiration picture: I am also linking this with the Snippets Playground - its all snippets - except the card base.... Have a great day!

Little Tangles and Male Room

I don't make a lot of masculine cards and I am not sure I succeeded with this one, but I made it for a male friend of mine - he is much younger than me, so I think its okay. I combined the sketch challenge from The Male Room with this week's  Little Tangles  challenge.  The numbers are by Papertrey. I die cut them and underlayed them with colored paper that I also sponged a bit. The stamps are by Neat and Tangled - the set is called Everyday Circles . I love that set! Added some black splatters. I popped up the sentiment circle with foam tape to give it some dimension. Quick and easy and I really like it! I am also linking this card with Seize the Birthday - anything birthday and The Snippets Playground - use a snippet - my happy sentiment CASology - Splatter

Muse #88

Hi Everyone, it has been a while that I have played at the  Muse  challenge - just not enough time.....I would love to play in every challenge, but that is impossible. But my talented friend  Vicki Dutcher  had made such a great card (you'll see it below) - I had to play along.... I bought those beautiful sequin dies from MFT a while ago and now they have their debut - I thought they are just perfect for this. The largest "sequin" I made with a punch. I used gold metallic paper. The sentiment is by STAMPlorations  Sentiment Builders: Celebrate  , heat embossed on vellum. Added some fine gold thread for extra interest. Here is Vicki's beauty: Perhaps it stretching it too much, but I also thought it would fir this weeks  Freshly Made Sketches  sketch - I just made the central panel larger....

ATSM Challenge #116

This is my second post today - for the Spotlight project click HERE  or scroll down. Hi Everyone - its challenge time at Addicted to Stamps and More ! And its everyone's favorite theme - Anything Goes. No theme, no limitations - let your inspiration soar!  I made a fun card for this challenge - I had a great time making it: I used the the STAMPlorations set  PATCHWORK FRENZY: Graphic Pentagons  to make some fish. I just doodled their fins and gave them googly eyes....the background I made with a Tim Holtz stencil (dot fade) and masked the pentagons. For the sentiment I used the  Sentiment Builders: Christmas & New Year   - it's so versatile, it does not limit you to the Holidays.        And here si our sponsor for this challenge:  Rick St. Dennis  The winner will get 3 digis. And here are my stamping supplies:  And one more look at my card - 'cause I like it that much :) Now head on over and play with us - see you at ATSM
