Hearts

I just received a new die from Lifestyle crafts  - how perfect for those two challenges I  made those cards for. One is the 10 minute craft dash - I like this challenge, because pressure stimulates me and some of my best cards were created rather quickly, although I usually don't have a timer running... Anyhow, the first card took 9 minutes and 19 seconds - most of the time I spent was poking those little hearts out, where the die did not entirely cut through the paper... how annoying, I thought I may not make it within the 10 minute time frame. The sentiment is from Micheal's - one of those $1 stamps they have.  The second card went faster - I put a shim through, so the Big Shot cut the die better. not sure how much faster, I had my timer off. The sentiment is from H ero Arts  Heartfelt Messages (Cl150). I will submit this card to the Simon Says challenge  Have a Heart.  I am entering this card also into the  die...

Clean & Simple Day 5 again

In the C&S class on day 5  Julie created a pop of color by adding color to only one section of the stamped image. I wanted to do this a little different and not use a flower stamp. So I  grabbed  my Hero Arts Plano stamp (ST518), Heat embossed it in white and colored some sections with my Prismacolor pencils. I love this stamp. It is so versatile. A  little  while back I made this card  with it. And I am planning to use it in different ways  in the future. The sentiment is Hero Arts Heartfelt Messages (Cl150).

RIC #29

This weeks runway inspired challeng e has again a great inspiration photo: And here is my take on it: The pink stamps are my own (see below , the sentiment is  a combo of Clearly Wordsworth and Hero Arts - Essential Messages (Cl371). I used Washi tape at the bottom, which I cut in half and splattered some blue/grey distress ink on top. I m very happy with the result, my husband was not thrilled, but my son liked it, yeahhh! And here is my inspiraton: This card  by Susan  and Tasnim , who reminded me that I can make my own stamps - I have done that several times before, for example on this card, where I made myself that background stamp: And here is a photo of some of my home made stamps using left over rubber from stamp sheets or craft foam, which also works great. I hope you enjoyed my little blog today - have a great day and as always your comments are greatly appreciated. I had to tur...

Clean and Simple Day 5

Stretch your stamps is the homework assignment on day 5 of the C&S class. I used the Hero Arts Horizontal lines background stamp (CG143) to create those 3 different backgrounds. On the first card I clear embossed it and colored the background with distress inks and a brush. On card two I inked it with black ink and colored the lines with markers and on card 3 I white embossed it on Kraft. Other materials: The other stamp on the first card is by Ryn Tanaka , put some Stickles on it, the thanks die cut is Cuttlebug, the heart border is Martha Stewart and the love sentiment is Hero Arts Word Shadow (AC0005) And here are the cards separately - kind of amazing how different they look.... Card # 1 will take part in the Play Date cafe challenge Thanks for visiting my blog and thanks for all the nice comments you left me - I enjoy so much reading them!

Ja, jetzt kann ich schon wieder neue Mitglieder begruessen, so eine Freude! Yeah, I have four new members on my blog, how delightful! Fuer Euch habe ich dieses Begruessungs Foto ausgesucht:  Great that you found my blog and stayed as members! I selected this welcome photo for you, I hope you like it: Der Kuenstler ist Dalton Ghetti - er macht diese kleinen Meisterwerke aus alten Bleistiften. Ich habe ein anderes Kunstwerk von ihm auf einem frueheren blog Eintrag .   The artist is Dalton Ghetti - he makes tiny pencil sculptures. I showed another one of his little masterpieces on a previous blogpost --X-- A friend of mine had twins last year and this month they are turning 1. Its a boy and a girl and I made those cards for them, using the layout from C&S Day 1. The fun letters are Penny black's Zoophabet c...

Hearts Window Card

I made this card for a Valentine's Day card exchange at the flickr LOVE card group . I wanted to make something special and different and that is what I came up with: The sentiment is Hero Arts Hugs N Hearts. I cut the window with a Lifestyle crafts die and used various punches for the hearts. Each heart is doubles up with the string in between. It was a little tedious to make - next time it would go faster, that is always the case for the second attempt. But I was really happy with the result - it actually looks like I envisioned it (that is not always the case with my ideas...) I hope the recipient of this card does not mind me submitting it for the Moxie Fab window card challenge I just saw over at Simon Says is "Anything goes"   - that is my kind of a challenge - into this challenge this card will go....

Clean and Simple Day 3

Before I get to my new card I want to welcome my email subscribers! I have 5 email subscribers to my blog and I finally figured out how to get to that number.... I am new to blogging and there is still so much I don't know. So I apologize, that it took me so long to acknowledge you. I am happy you found my blog and liked it so much that you wanted to stay updated! It means a lot to me.  For all of you I have this picture: It is made out of Crayons, which are vertically arranged, so you are looking at the tip of  the crayons. I hope you like it. --X-- Here is a card trying  out Jennifer McGuire's gradient technique, that she explained so well in her video. You ink you stamp with one color first, then stamp. Then you take the next color and ink up your stamp without cleaning the stamp in between, so it has both colors mixed. then you clean the stamp and use ink number 2 alone, next you ink with ink number 3 and don't clean your stamp an...
