Twofer Challenge #1

Hi Everyone,

my blogging friends started a new challenge and of course I have to play along!!!!
I am sure you all know about the TWOFER challenge - the master mind behind it is the beloved Darnell from djcardcreations.

So the idea is to take one stamp of die and make two different cards. The current theme is FEATHER.

The feather I used is from an ancient Hero Arts set. For the black card I heat embossed it in gold, added a large feather as well and colored it with Fine Tec mica water colors. The sentiment is by Papertrey. Added gold splatters and Washi tape at the bottom.

The white card is super simple as you can see. The same feather. The sentiment is from STAMPlorations and the cute little bird is another ancient stamp from a company I believe no longer exists. And to get Darnell excited it was an NBUS stamp! I did add some subtle grey shading to to feather.

Here are a bit bigger pictures.

What a FUN challenge! I am sure I'll be a regular there!

Happy Stamping!

Cornelia, these are just fantastic!!! Using a black base, with the rich, rich gold embossing and splatters was a fabulous idea. Such an elegant card. And that fun little bird floating on a feather was another great idea. Such a sweet and CAS card. Two delightful cards. Hope to see you in the gallery again. Thank you for joining us at the Twofer Challenge. Bev

Your twofer is a real treat, Cornelia! Those feathers are practically glowing off the black cs! Mica, and splatters, and washi - oh my! That little bird with his orange beak and fantastic expression is adorable, and so perfect with the sentiment! He was NBUS well worth waiting for. I love that you placed him on the feather. Thanks for joining in on the fun at Twofer Card Challenge!

This twofer was so worth waiting for...because both cards are absolutely fabulous. The elegant gold on black...so sophisticated and Audrey Hepburn-ish. And the bird (my current obsession) is completely charming with that sentiment. Brilliant on both counts...you win, hands down.

Oh my goodness, Cornelia ... those glowing gold feathers against the black ... elegant, chic, stylish and stunning! That little bird on his feather bed (hahaha!) is just the sweetest ... crisp, CAS, cute ... I so agree with the sentiment you chose! Thanks so much for playing along with us at our inaugural Twofer Card Challenge! Hugs, Anita :)

two fantastic cards, Cornelia - the gold and black is just gorgeous and the second card couldn't be cuter with the great sentiment and that little crow!!
The first is so elegant looking with the gold on the dark background. And the other one is so cute with just part of the feather being the source of transportation for that cutie.

Two great cards, Cornela !! The white card is fun, but black simply receives speech! I love it, the gold on the black looks stunning, and the small golden dots, focused only around the pen, is an amazing complement to the picture.

WOW! How clever you are Cornelia to have made 2 completely different cards with just those feathers. I adore the feathers on the black card and what a fun second card - so cool. Brilliant work.

Your cards are a perfect example of how to use the same stamp in very different ways. I Love your gorgeous, elegant 1st feather card and your sweet and silly 2nd card. TFS Cornelia. Hugs..

Haha, you funny, Cornelia! And you're right, I'm super becited! Not only did you use NBUS (yippie!!), but you rocked the Twofer concept with these outstanding card designs! The black with the gold feathers and the splatters and the strip of Washi tape ... it's all so super elegant and fabulous! And the "ruffled feathers" crow card is CASlicious to the MAX! I love everything about it, including the single enamel dot punctuation! Mwah! Thank you for wonderful shoutout and for playing in my first Twofer challenge! I already can't wait to see what you do next month!! Hugs, Darnell

Those gold feathers are gorgeous, Cornelia, and that little crow propped up on the other feather goes well with that sentiment. I love them both.
Wow! I am amazed at how different these two cards are! This is definitely a tribute to your versatility as an artist. The first one is magical and elegant and breathtaking and the second is so wonderfully whimsical! I love how you showcased the same stamp in two amazing different ways. Thank you for sharing your talents with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!

Gorgeous CASilicious cards, Cornelia. Your cards are very different but equally impactful. Love how this new challenge is making us look at our supplies (loved, underused or NBUS) with fresh eyes. A worthy follow-up to Darnell's NBUS challenges. I had fun creating my Twofers as well.

Easter Egg and Bunny

Hi Everyone, I made a bunch of Easter cards, after all its little more than one month and I need to send them out in time... You see, they are all similar - using both the die cut and the negative, that I cut from a die cut egg. The cute bunnies got their yearly appearance - they are from Impression Obsession. the egg is by Lifestyle Crafts. The sentiment is by Papertrey. And here are bigger photos from this set: Linking up with Creative with Stamps - Easter The Paper Players - die cutting Die Cut Divas - animals Happy Little Stampers - anything goes with dies

Dynamic Duos combined with CAS Colours and Sketches

I am getting the hang of combining challenges....not sure if that's good or bad... In the past I would just put all my "creative energy" into one challenge and then just link up with others, if the card just happened to fit...but now I do that on purpose. Well, I'll see how it goes....                           Anyhow here is the card that came out of this: I did not want to add a sentiment - I 'll add it later, when I know who will get it. And here is a close -up: Challenges: Dynamic Duos CAS Colours and Sketches Addicted to Stamps and More Amusing Challenges Materials: Papertrey Background Basics: Super Stripes, Memory Box Chloe Stem die. --X-- Card for Maddy: You may know already about  Maddy ,  who  was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and went through chemotherapy treatment followed by a stem cell transplant from her (then) fifteen year old sister Melanie.  She now has a relapse and this car

Mirror Image Stamping with So Suzy and the MISTI

Hi Everyone, I am so happy to be part of this wonderful event - the collaboration between So Suzy and the MISTI from My Sweet Petunia doing mirror image stamping.  This event is going on for the ENTIRE  MONTH! We are demonstrating the  Mirror Image Stamp    which coordinates with the Misti Stamping Tool! All month long, different bloggers will post a card using the  Mirror Image Stamp .  In my tutorial today, I will show you how use the  Mirror Image Stamp  on your cards. You can basically double your stamp supplies that way! The  mirror image stamp  is  a 4.25" x 5.5" piece of red rubber with no foam backing. So much larger than the other mirror image stamps out there and therefore much more useful! Mirror Image stamp ,  Two Cats in a Tree If you want a video tutorial on how to do this I can highly recommend you watch THIS VIDEO on youtube. Explains it all in very little time! Or you can see the same thing on my photo tutorial. With mirror
