The Cutting Edge

There is a new challenge out there - I am sure you all know about it by now - its called The Cutting Edge, with Jackie Rockwell as the mastermind behind it!

I wanted to play and I needed a card for my Dad's 95th birthday and since I had some time today I went to work on it....

You can see it a little bit, but I used some subtly textured paper for the card base (got this from my friend Anita from My Papercraft World) and I use it sparingly, waiting for the right occasion. And clearly, the occasion could not be any better!

I used my Papertrey RainbowStripes die and partially sponged it ini orange. The numbers are Papertrey too. The balloons are Mama Elephant. The plaid on them I stamped with Hero Arts Plaid Background stamp with Delicata ink - wanted to get the textured dots form the inspiration card in. And lastly the sentiment is by Hero Arts - Essential Messages

I am also linking this card with Virginia's View - Die Cut
and I am adding this card to the Snippets Playground - add a snippet - my snippet is the balloons - used some left over card stock for them

I really love this card, Cornelia! The texture on your card base is amazing, and I love how you colored the Rainbow Stripes die (I 'need' that die)...it really makes the numbers pop! Fabulous color combo, too! I'll bet your dad is going to love this card!

Oh fabulous Cornelia! I bet your Dad loves this card! The orange stripes remind me of the vapour trails left by our RAF 'Red Arrows' acrobatic air display team.

Hugs, Di xx

Oh my, Cornelia, this is such a cool card for your Dad's landmark birthday ... Happy Birthday to him! Those bold orange graphic swooshed stripes are fantastic behind the green numbers ... they just pop against it! So pleased you're enjoying the cardstock, my friend! Anita :)
