Cure for the Monday Blues #19

After my win for the last Cure for the Monday Blues challenge (you can see the card HERE ) I felt really motivated to play again - thanks Taheera! What really captured me in the inspiration photo was the globe - as soon as I saw it I knew exactly what to make - I just had to wait for my new order from My Favorite Things....and I got it in time!  So without further ado - here is my card: I also incorporated the wood ceiling and the banner on the wall. And all the other colors you can find them in the picture as well.  I mounted the white card stock panel onto chipboard to give it more substance and dimension. The patterned wood paper is from Michaels. I made the little banners with Washi tape. I leaned on the sketch from the STAMPlorations challenge - there is still time to play, but you have to hurry, time is running out! I am also linking this card with the Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Anything goes Cure for the Monday blues   ...

Guest Designer at the Muse!

I could not believe it when Ardyth emailed me and offered me to be guest designer for this weeks Muse challenge ! Of course I said yes - I am still excited about it! So I thought hard about what to do and came up with this card: I wanted something totally different and also open for interpretation. It actually was really easy to make. I have some cheap bottles of acrylic paint at home. I used yellow, orange, green and neon pink and made some strips across the card. Then I took my trusty cake decorating tool (you can see it HERE ), flattened the paint and went up and down in a zig zag motion.  I used watercolor paper - regular paper warped too much. Once the paint was dry I stamped the sentiment over it - STAMPlorations sentiment builder Happy Added some black splatters. I hope you like it and I inspired you to play along! I am also adding this card to the Bizzy Becs challenge - Anything goes

Paper Smooches rainbow card

I made this card along time ago, but never published it. Since I am on vacation and can't make any cards right now I thought I may just finally show this and link it up withe the Paper Smooches Sparks challenge - the theme is anything goes. The stamp is Paper smooches - Hip to be Square - anything geometric always appeals to me. I colored the squares with Copics. The sentiment is from the Sentiment sampler set. The banner I cut myself and added the enamel dots.  I am also linking this card with Addicted to Stamps and more - anything goes and to the  Bizzy Becs challenge  - Anything goes I hope you like it and thanks for visiting!

Happy Birthday Vicki!

I am sure you all know her and her wonderful blog All I do is stamp . Go on over and wish her a Happy birthday. Since Vicki is the queen of making beautiful bows and I can't do them I used some seam binding here in her honor. The background I made with a Prima stencil and the stamps are by STAMPlorations - Artful Flutters and Sentiment Builder Happy STAMPlorations - Artful Flutters and Sentiment Builders - Happy  Vicki is on the STAMPlorations DT, but also on  Just us Girls  - so I had to play in that challenge in her honor....I took the layout from  Retrosketches

TAWS BIC #52

Hi Everybody, I am on vacation again, so I won't have too much time visiting your blogs, but I'll catch up when I'll be back home..... I love the TAWS inspiration photo , but found it quite difficult to come up with something - to capture the movement and the delicate colors.... I don't feel I was very successful with my attempt - its definitely too green, but I do like the card that came out of this: I used the Holiday Sparkles set for the background - I heat embossed it onto watercolor paper. I then added watercolor. The black strip on the side is from Awesome Blossom and the sentiment is from the set All about You. I added generous amount of Stickles to the snowflakes (shows a little bit in the picture), some liquid pearls to the black dotted strip and lastly added the bird (Bird Brain), which I fussy cut.  Thanks for visiting my blog today!

STAMPlorations Sketch Challenge #12

Hi my Friends, this is my second post today, for the House of Cards challenge inspiration p lease scroll down. It's time for another sketch challenge at   STAMPlorations . I love this sketch (see below) - it has so many possibilities! I used  using  Trendy Feathers , which I heat embossed and fuzzy cut. The sentiment is from the same set. The stitching I did with the  PATCHWORK FRENZY: Graphic Squares  set. The tilted panel is patterned paper. I sponged some butterscotch Adirondack ink onto the Kraft paper to make it look a tad more interesting. The Paper Candy I colored with Copics. I added some metallic copper colored thread and threaded everyting through an eyelet.  This time Debbie from Indy's Design  is joining us as guest designer - I am so glad she could join us. Debbie has created a really cute card - come on over and have a look! Besides that there are just wonderful cards from our DT to spark your Mojo! ...

Dream Valley Challenge #82 and Cure for the Monday Blues

Its time for a new challenge at  Dream Valley Challenge  - the theme is "things with wings" That's easy - anything from Mosquitoes to fairies is welcome....You have two week to link up with us - I hope to see you there!  I took my inspiration from  Addicted to Stamps and More I immediately fell in love with this pretty picture when I saw it and wanted to recreate it. I sponged the pink square, making myself a stencil with a piece of scrap paper and a punch. I also used the negative die cut from the branch to sponge on the branch. The flowers I punched using the scrap paper stencil sides, which had already ink on them......Did some sponging on the bird. mounted it with foam tape and added Stickles to the flowers. I am also linking this card up with the Snippets Playground  - use a snippet Less is More - Flowers - there is 4 on my card, although the bird somewhat dominates... Simon Says Wednesday challenge - die cuts Time out chall...

Paper Smooches and CASual Fridays

Paper Smooches has an inspiration picture for us this week and here is my interpretation: I took the PTI Take Three die to cut the squares. The rest is from the Paper Smooches Zoo Crew sentiment. the giraffe I cut and "stretched it across the center panel. Unfortunately I was too late for Retrosketches, but there is still time at CASual Fridays to play in the Three Thirds challenge - three squares, three leaves and la sty   I am linking this card with  Addicted to CAS  - off the edge - the giraffe goes through the frame...            And Paper Smooches has a guest designer search going on  - I'll give it a try, why not..... I hope you like it! thank you all for visiting and all you wonderful comments!  Enjoy your weekend!

Simply Create Too #61 - Anything but a Card

Simply Create Too  Challenge #61 - "Anything But a Card" is in its second week, but you still have time to play with us until  22 May 2014 at midnight [C.D.T. US] I don't do a lot of sewing - probably because my sewing machine is in a closet and I am generally too lazy to pull it out, but for this I made an exception. This is called a Dinkelmaus - its German and translates into Spelt mouse. You put it in the microwave for about a minute and 44 seconds, it heats up and then you take it to bed with you to keep you warm and cozy. My son loves it and his old one had a hole in it and was loosing the spelt - time to replace it..... You take a square piece of fabric (16 inches) , fold it diagonally, put some edging around (doube folded bias tape), as well as the diagonal for the head, tuck the ears under and sew on the buttons - if you feel like it. This is one hungry mouse - it swallows up 3 pound of spelt......but it lasts forever! I am l...

Muse #67

I love everything about this weeks  Muse  card by  Therese Calvird  - the color combo, the inlaid die-cuts and all those different fonts! I had to recreate it......I  actually need another Mothers Day card - we are celebrating  Mothers Day this Sunday with my in laws. So I made this card for my husband to give it to his mother: I used the Mom subway art builder set #2 by STAMPlorations for this card. The little circles are from teh Holiday Artsy set  and the die cut is Simon Says. Of course it needed some enamel dots..... This is Thereses' fantastic card: Have a great day!
