Woodblock Wednesday - Celebrate Graduation

Hi Everyone, I am playing along with  Woodblock Wednesday  from Amy Tsuruta. It's such a good excuse to play with my favorite, neglected wood stamps! I needed a graduation card for my son's girlfriend. She finished film school and I wanted the card to reflect her education. The cats are her passion and dark green is her favorite color - so that's how I came  up with that. I die cut the filmstrips ( Funky Fossil ). I used the white cut outs form the white film strip and stamps the cats and mouse. The graduate silhouette is by Die-Versions. The words are by Pink Fresh. the Washi tape is also from  Funky Fossil And in the picture below you can see all my woodblock stamps:  (The Cat's Pyjamas, Recollections, Rubber Soul, Detailed Rubber Stamps) Hope you liked this. Thanks for visiting! Happy Stamping! Linking up with: Woodblock Wednesday Simon Says Wednesday challenge  - lots of layers

Katzelkraft - Forgotten English Words I

Hi Everyone, I am back with my weekly Katzelkraft post. I discovered this cool Instagram feed, called the.language.nerds and their post about forgotten English words that are very relevant today. This got me thinking I should create cards for those words. I have a mini series coming up and here is my first card: I printed out the word and explanation on my printer.  Made the background with a stencil from Funky Fossil . Stamped the animal onto scrap paper and colored it with alcohol ink markers. Cut it out.  I added it to the card. Cut the sentiment apart, drew a frame around it and added it to my card.  The stamp I used is from the following set: Les Australiens  - KTZ225,  (FRANCE) Australian animals  - KTZ225   (USA) Hope you liked this - I'll be back next Wednesday with more Katzelkraft inspiration.  Thanks for visiting! Topflight Stamps - Inky Backgrounds

Hi Everyone, This week we are focusing on ink at the  Topflight blog . I choose to use Lavinia Elements inks for my cards. For all of them I used Mermaid and Sahara . Those inks are super juicy, they react with water and they come in great colors! For the first card I directly inked up an acrylic block with those two inks and sprayed it with water. Pressed it onto the paper. For the second card I used whatever ink remained on the block and did a second impression on regular card stock. For my third card I brayered the inks onto the acrylic block and spritzed water onto the block and then pressed it into the paper. I used various stamps to "decorate" my cards - see below. I also drew a frame around the inky impression on the second and third cards. I hope you liked this. Thanks for visiting.  See you next week with more  Topflight Stamps  inspiration. And here are the stamp supplies I used:  Mermaid                ...
