RIC #42 and a sweet surprise

I have not played in the Runway Inspired challenge for a while - too many challenges out there. but today I got an inspiration from Eileen - many of you probably know her. She has an amazing blog. When I saw her blog entry today I thought to CASE her idea and use it for the RIC - and thank fully there were still a couple of hours left to make this card:

I used alcohol inks on acetate. The die cut is from Simon Says and the sentiment is from Impression Obsession. The butterflies are made with a Martha Stewart punch. It was a little tricky to make the butterflies. The acetate I used for the card was too thick and the punch did not work I used thin acetate for my next try, but it punched it badly. Finally I used thin acetate and a layer of paper on top and that did the trick.

On the card the colored acetate side is facing the white card stock, so the surface is clean and shiny. The white frame I just cut out of card stock with my paper trimmer.

This is the inspiration photo.

I want to share a sweet surprise with you that arrived in the mail today. My blogger friend Rosi/DaenY's sent me this fun card from France:

Its a shaker card with sand in it - you can see how the sand moves. Such a cool idea! Absolutely adorable! I was so touched.

Thank you Rosi - you are really amazing! Go and visit her blog - not only does she make fantastic cards, but she also bakes and cooks and right now you can get a recipe for a delicious Baily Mousse cake, mmmhhhh!

Katzelkraft - Stampotique Raven

Hi Everyone, Do you know that   Katzelkraft has aquired Stampotique stamps? This fun raven is designed by Daniel Torrente (#6314). I used an old background from my stashs.  I stamped the bird and colored it with alcohol ink markers.  I brushed distrss ink onto the background and added some pattern with the   Mandala Magic stencil  from Funky Fossil Designs.I used one of the border stamps on the left for more interest.  Stamped the sentiment  and doodled a frame around the sentiment.Added a googly eye to the bird and drew in some eye lashes.  The stamps I used are from the following sets: Spiral Borders - KTZ286,  Whatchamacallit  - KTZ276  (FRANCE) Spiral Borders  - KTZ286 , Whatchamacallit  - KTZ276 (USA) Hope you liked this - I'll be back next Wednesday with more Katzelkraft inspiration.  Thanks for visiting! Happy Stamping! Linking up with: Simon Says Wednesday challenge  - fur or feathers
