In 80 Days around the World for Heindesign

Hi Everyone,

the German company Heindesign has an ongoing challenge on Facebook. The theme is "In 80 Days around the World". The challenge is still open until 7/19. So I decided I need to play along. The requirement is a post card with a front and a backside.

Above you see the front. I used an iStencil for my background. Sponged in rainbow colors. Most of the little animals are by Cats on Appletrees. The plane and car are ancient wood stamps from my stash and the sentiment I created with my computer.

Here is the back of my postcard. I borrowed the post card stamps (Papertrey) from my sister. I used another iStencil for the cityscape. The balloon and clock are also ancient wood stamps. Masked them and sponged the rest.

And to make it more fun I created a little poem in German:

Schnell, schnell wir eilen,
koennen nicht verweilen.....
In 80 Tagen um die Erde
ob ich das denn schaffen werde?
Ich hoffe schon und sende Gruesse
an den Herrn Hein und seine Suesse

In English - sorry, could not make it rhyme.....

Lets move fast
we can not rest
In 80 days around the world
not sure if I'll be able to do that?
But I sure hope
and I send greetings
to Mr. Hein and his Sweetie

My envelope. If you want to participate you still have some time to send your postcard on its merry way!

Hope you liked this and thanks for visiting!

This is definitely a winner in my book. All those sweet animals surrounding the beautifully colored world. A cityscape that is just as lovely on the opposite side. All those darling modes of transportation and an envelope to boot. These are really works of art.

Das Thema hast Du wunderbar umgesetzt. Das alles auf eine Karte zu bringen ist schon eine Herausforderung. Und dann auch noch beide Seiten gestalten ... das ist "strafverschärfend" *lach*

Suzanne's Surprise Blog Hop

Hi Everyone, I have a very special card for you today - a birthday card for Suzanne, the owner and talented force behind So Suzy Stamps! And we are celebrating this wonderful occasion with a special blog hop! You may have arrived from the wonderful Giada , our Italian contingent :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY Suzanne! I used the Blowing Butterflies  (heat embossed in gold)  and the Birthday Wishes  to create my card. I cut myself a gold frame from glitter paper and added a water color wash. I opened the frame on the side to have the butterflies and color spill out. Added lots of splatters and the heat embossed sentiment Your next stop on the hop is the talented Henriette - you are going to love her card! And just in case you get lost - below are all the participants listed. You even can get lucky and win a $20 gift certificate for So Suzy Stamps - sponsored by Justine and a  Bunkie Bag from Simply Charming Everyday, but you have to le...

Addicted to Stamps and More #134 and Spotlight Sneak Peek

Hi Everyone, Its challenge time at  ATSM ! For the next two week its going to be CAS - just my thing! And hopefully yours, too! I made a birthday card, because for some reason I always need more and never seem to have enough.... I was inspired by this weeks Make it Monday , where the talented  Ashley Newell  shows us a video about  stamps and doodling. Since I  mainly own die cuts from Papertrey and not so many stamps that would fit this theme I made my own out of fun foam, using my latest Papertrey dies (just got the order a few days ago) and cut those in fun foam - it works so well - voila - you have our own stamps, spending only a fraction of the money! I doodled around the stamps as you can see. Gives you kind of a cool effect....a little more tremor and one would think I drank too much ;) Added tiny enamel dots - do you know about this month House of Cards challenge - its enamel dots - thought I'll let you know..... Our wonderful spons...

Dynamic Duos combined with CAS Colours and Sketches

I am getting the hang of combining challenges....not sure if that's good or bad... In the past I would just put all my "creative energy" into one challenge and then just link up with others, if the card just happened to fit...but now I do that on purpose. Well, I'll see how it goes....                           Anyhow here is the card that came out of this: I did not want to add a sentiment - I 'll add it later, when I know who will get it. And here is a close -up: Challenges: Dynamic Duos CAS Colours and Sketches Addicted to Stamps and More Amusing Challenges Materials: Papertrey Background Basics: Super Stripes, Memory Box Chloe Stem die. --X-- Card for Maddy: You may know already about  Maddy ,  who  was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and went through chemotherapy treatment followed by a stem cell transplant from her (then) fiftee...
