The Back Stories With Darnell and Cornelia - #6 Raven

RAVEN

Raven gasped when she saw her reflection in the full-length mirror. When she won the gift certificate for the new Trend on Trent clothing store in the Aviary Mall, she went begrudgingly.
Raven was a widow and after 43 successful hatches, she had let herself go. Her feathers had thinned to the point where she was cold all the time and she could no longer fly. Her legs had lost their scaliness, and her claws were no longer shiny and sharp.

But yesterday all that changed when she gathered all that remained of her courage and headed for the mall to spend the gift. Now, looking at herself, she was so glad she had been brave. The beautiful scarf and leggings were warm and soft and the bright red tennies made her feel younger than she had in years.
When she walked home, her feet comfortable in her fancy new shoes, Raven could feel the admiring looks. She giggled inside as she stood straighter, stretching out her tail feathers and flirting for the first time in a long time.

Love the back story but the superbly colored image tells the real truth. One has to take care of oneself to retain confidence and panache.

Easter Egg and Bunny

Hi Everyone, I made a bunch of Easter cards, after all its little more than one month and I need to send them out in time... You see, they are all similar - using both the die cut and the negative, that I cut from a die cut egg. The cute bunnies got their yearly appearance - they are from Impression Obsession. the egg is by Lifestyle Crafts. The sentiment is by Papertrey. And here are bigger photos from this set: Linking up with Creative with Stamps - Easter The Paper Players - die cutting Die Cut Divas - animals Happy Little Stampers - anything goes with dies

Addicted to Stamps and More #134 and Spotlight Sneak Peek

Hi Everyone, Its challenge time at  ATSM ! For the next two week its going to be CAS - just my thing! And hopefully yours, too! I made a birthday card, because for some reason I always need more and never seem to have enough.... I was inspired by this weeks Make it Monday , where the talented  Ashley Newell  shows us a video about  stamps and doodling. Since I  mainly own die cuts from Papertrey and not so many stamps that would fit this theme I made my own out of fun foam, using my latest Papertrey dies (just got the order a few days ago) and cut those in fun foam - it works so well - voila - you have our own stamps, spending only a fraction of the money! I doodled around the stamps as you can see. Gives you kind of a cool effect....a little more tremor and one would think I drank too much ;) Added tiny enamel dots - do you know about this month House of Cards challenge - its enamel dots - thought I'll let you know..... Our wonderful spons...
