Make It Monday #113 and Welcome Picture

As promised here is my belated welcome picture for my three newest blog members (see yesterdays post) - I did not just want to greet you with the hamster....

This picture I took may years ago in the Botanical Garden in the Bronx, when Dale Chihuly was exhibited there. He is an american glass artist. I loved the exhibit so much I went there three times. This picture is taken at night - the sun is almost completely down, you can just see a hint of the sunset reflecting in the water. There also was a little drizzle coming down  It was just magical...

I have a lot of Perfect Pearls at home - I got them a while ago when a crafting store somewhat close to my home went out of business and you could go there, pay $20 and fill a bag with goodies....I ended up with lots and lots of supplies, some of which have been collecting dust - such as those Perfect Pearls... I was wondering what to do with them, until Nicole Heady from Papertrey posted that video on her blog. Such a cool technique! I had to try that!

It looks quite elegant, so I pulled out my damask desing set from Papertrey, inked it up with Versamark and applied Perfect Pearls with a paint brush in different hues of blue. The card base I used has little specks of gold in it and the whole card shimmers quite beautifully

One caveat so- it depends on the lighting how well you can see the colors.Overall the card is very pretty, I think. Perhaps you'll like it, too!

Of course I am linking it up with Make It Monday

Love how this turned out, Cathy. Funny, we got our perfect pearls in the same way. Unfortunate, but true, our scrapbook store went out of business too! Anyway, your colors are electric. Gorgeous!

You gave this technique a try - can't wait to do so myself. Love your colors and the damask image choice. Does the "powder" seem to rub off?

This is just AWESOME, Cornelia. Love all the colors you have used. Beautifully done. :-)
The card is magical. As much as the photo you've taken. Maybe it wasn't made by purpose but it looks like you used your photo as an inspiration :)

Suzanne's Surprise Blog Hop

Hi Everyone, I have a very special card for you today - a birthday card for Suzanne, the owner and talented force behind So Suzy Stamps! And we are celebrating this wonderful occasion with a special blog hop! You may have arrived from the wonderful Giada , our Italian contingent :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY Suzanne! I used the Blowing Butterflies  (heat embossed in gold)  and the Birthday Wishes  to create my card. I cut myself a gold frame from glitter paper and added a water color wash. I opened the frame on the side to have the butterflies and color spill out. Added lots of splatters and the heat embossed sentiment Your next stop on the hop is the talented Henriette - you are going to love her card! And just in case you get lost - below are all the participants listed. You even can get lucky and win a $20 gift certificate for So Suzy Stamps - sponsored by Justine and a  Bunkie Bag from Simply Charming Everyday, but you have to le...

Easter Egg and Bunny

Hi Everyone, I made a bunch of Easter cards, after all its little more than one month and I need to send them out in time... You see, they are all similar - using both the die cut and the negative, that I cut from a die cut egg. The cute bunnies got their yearly appearance - they are from Impression Obsession. the egg is by Lifestyle Crafts. The sentiment is by Papertrey. And here are bigger photos from this set: Linking up with Creative with Stamps - Easter The Paper Players - die cutting Die Cut Divas - animals Happy Little Stampers - anything goes with dies

Addicted to Stamps and More #134 and Spotlight Sneak Peek

Hi Everyone, Its challenge time at  ATSM ! For the next two week its going to be CAS - just my thing! And hopefully yours, too! I made a birthday card, because for some reason I always need more and never seem to have enough.... I was inspired by this weeks Make it Monday , where the talented  Ashley Newell  shows us a video about  stamps and doodling. Since I  mainly own die cuts from Papertrey and not so many stamps that would fit this theme I made my own out of fun foam, using my latest Papertrey dies (just got the order a few days ago) and cut those in fun foam - it works so well - voila - you have our own stamps, spending only a fraction of the money! I doodled around the stamps as you can see. Gives you kind of a cool effect....a little more tremor and one would think I drank too much ;) Added tiny enamel dots - do you know about this month House of Cards challenge - its enamel dots - thought I'll let you know..... Our wonderful spons...
