Freshly Made Sketches #200

Hi Everyone,

I am back from vacation and totally out of practice - could not get into my card room yesterday - no inspiration, whatsoever....but today with a looming deadline over at Freshly Made Sketches - would not want to miss their fantastic celebration!!!!! Yeahh for Freshly Made Sketches - BIG CONGRATS!!!!!
So I finally got an idea... Still drawing on Jennifer McGuire's fab faux metal technique and getting the colors from Color Throwdown

So pleased with the outcome - its just an amazing technique. Using my  new WRMK (We're Memory Keepers) embossing folder. Inked with distress inks and Perfect Pearls. The sentiment and die cut are by Papertrey. The little butterfly is a punch by Martha Stewart. Used some Washi tape and glossy accents.

Here is another view - just love the way it looks.

Also linking up with
the Snippets Playground - use a snippet - butterfly and die cut

So, wanna know what I did on vacation? Guess - I met THE FAMOUS, FABULOUS, ONLY TENIA NELSON from Jazzy paper Design!
and I have picture to prove it:

From left to right - my hubby, my son, me, Tenia, her adorable son and wonderful husband.
We had a delicious meal together and it was FUN!

It's wonderful to be able to meet in real life - such a treat! Hi Tenia - hope you get to NY/NJ one day:)

I'll show you some more pics in future posts - for now its bed time for me....

Das ist wirklich spannend, Blog-Freunde zu treffen, die man ja wirklich nicht so richtig kennt, nur vom hin- und herschreiben.
Deine Karte ist wieder einmal sehr schön und elegant.

Well, shut my mouth. If that card isn't the winner I, for one, will want to know why. It's incredible. Actually stunning. I still can't get the drool off my chin (ooh, that's sounds gross). Better to say A-MAZ-iING. And you got to meet with Tenia and family. What fun. Let's see, did you talk about cardmaking??? Thanks so much for sharing this beauty.

Don't you just LOVE this faux metallic technique of Jennifer's? It really does make a huge difference to have the next level ef's, and I only scored one (and not the ones I wanted!) at Stampaway. Everyone seems to be out of stock of the ones that Jen used. Love, love your take on this technique. Just awesome looks and especially with the dual color combo top & bottom. Really like this! TFS & Hugs (enjoyed seeing the picture of two bloggers meet up. That's also so fantastic, isn't it?)

Katzelkraft - Stampotique Raven

Hi Everyone, Do you know that   Katzelkraft has aquired Stampotique stamps? This fun raven is designed by Daniel Torrente (#6314). I used an old background from my stashs.  I stamped the bird and colored it with alcohol ink markers.  I brushed distrss ink onto the background and added some pattern with the   Mandala Magic stencil  from Funky Fossil Designs.I used one of the border stamps on the left for more interest.  Stamped the sentiment  and doodled a frame around the sentiment.Added a googly eye to the bird and drew in some eye lashes.  The stamps I used are from the following sets: Spiral Borders - KTZ286,  Whatchamacallit  - KTZ276  (FRANCE) Spiral Borders  - KTZ286 , Whatchamacallit  - KTZ276 (USA) Hope you liked this - I'll be back next Wednesday with more Katzelkraft inspiration.  Thanks for visiting! Happy Stamping! Linking up with: Simon Says Wednesday challenge  - fur or feathers

Suzanne's Surprise Blog Hop

Hi Everyone, I have a very special card for you today - a birthday card for Suzanne, the owner and talented force behind So Suzy Stamps! And we are celebrating this wonderful occasion with a special blog hop! You may have arrived from the wonderful Giada , our Italian contingent :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY Suzanne! I used the Blowing Butterflies  (heat embossed in gold)  and the Birthday Wishes  to create my card. I cut myself a gold frame from glitter paper and added a water color wash. I opened the frame on the side to have the butterflies and color spill out. Added lots of splatters and the heat embossed sentiment Your next stop on the hop is the talented Henriette - you are going to love her card! And just in case you get lost - below are all the participants listed. You even can get lucky and win a $20 gift certificate for So Suzy Stamps - sponsored by Justine and a  Bunkie Bag from Simply Charming Everyday, but you have to le...

Combined So Suzy and The Ton Blog Hop

Hi Everyone, I am sooooo excited to be part of this amazing event - a combined hop between So Suzy Stamps and The Ton! I have been eyeing The Ton stamps and dies for quite a while - they are just gorgeous! And So Suzy - well you have seen their stamps on my blog - they are simply fabulous! I also love that they are made from rubber - its different stamping with them. Its much better for generational stamping and they don't stick to your paper when you use your Misti. You may have arrived from the fabulous  Eunji - its a hard act to follow her.... I got those gorgeous  Peonies Dies  from The Ton and die cut them with water color paper. Spritzed Dylusion inks on a sheet of plastic and dipped the dies into the colors. Mounted them onto black card stock. Added the So Suzy Birthday sentiment - heat embossed in white. Lastly I added a strip of envelope liner paper at the bottom. Here are my supplies: So Suzy Birthday sentiment ,  Peo...
