Cure for the Monday Blues and New member Welcome

What a nice start to 2015 - 4 new members to greet! Welcome Ladies - lets hope 2015 will be even better than 2014 for all of you!

Welcome to my little corner of blogland. Last year at this time I thought I would blog less than I did in 2013, but that has not happened. I am still thoroughly addicted to card making and I don't see it ending any time soon. It still thrills me to play in whatever challenge I feel drawn to - mostly getting inspired by their themes or pictures rather than sticking with a particular challenge that I always play in....I am still mainly CAS, although I sometimes experiment....but them always get back into CAS mode. So if you like that, stick around, that's how it going to be....

A warm welcome to (in the order of joining)
All those ladies have fabulous blogs - go and check them out and leave them some love - perhaps you want to tell them I sent you;)

Glad to have you with me! And here is your welcome picture:

It is by the artist and textile designer Lian Tianmiao. I took this picture last April in the Denver Art Museum. It reminds me about snow - just right for this time of the year. Hope you like it!

And her is my card for the day :

I needed a card for one of my son's friends - he is turning 13 as you can see. A male teenager card - that is a challenge in itself..... I really liked the colors in Taheera's Cure for the Monday Blues challenge and thought they are perfect for a teenager....
I just had ordered some Simon Says goodies - among which was the arrow die cut. I think it is quite versatile and I am already have several things in mind to make with it. I first thought I die cut the colored arrows on colored paper, but then I changed me mind - what a waste and I just colored them with Copics....

The sentiment is by CASual Fridays and the numbers are Memory Box  - had them forever, never used - and you know what that means  - it going into Darnell's NBUS challenge ( (Never before used schtuff)....
I did not want the holes in the numbers, so I painstakingly fiddled them back in and secured them with tape....
I am also linking up with Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Anything Goes
Seize the Birthday - Anything birthday, optional party
Stempelkueche - Alles Geht - anything goes

Never-Before-Used-Schtuff (Stamps, Dies, EFs, etc.)

Happy Saturday and happy stamping!

This is so perfect for any teenager, Cornelia! I love the colors and your cool design.

Thank you for noticing that I had not linked my card to the Stamplorations challenge. I just rectified that. Thanks, also, for your sweet comments on my blog; always appreciated!!

So much great movement in this card, and those bright arrows are such a great, outside-the-box way to bring in the colours from the inspiration image! Thanks so much for playing to find a Cure For The Monday Blues!

Your teenage boy card: perfect! And what a fabulous take on Taheerah's challenge, as well. You'll be dubbed 'super cool card-creator' when the birthday guy receives this! Awesome! Thank you for so much for asking about my dad. I shared a brief update on my Inkspirational post yesterday: sadly, he passed away on Dec. 30th, my parents' 56th Wedding Anniversary. Heavy heart...but visiting blogs - like yours, my friend, is offering such a boost to my spirits. I'll be staying with my mom for another two weeks...

Easter Egg and Bunny

Hi Everyone, I made a bunch of Easter cards, after all its little more than one month and I need to send them out in time... You see, they are all similar - using both the die cut and the negative, that I cut from a die cut egg. The cute bunnies got their yearly appearance - they are from Impression Obsession. the egg is by Lifestyle Crafts. The sentiment is by Papertrey. And here are bigger photos from this set: Linking up with Creative with Stamps - Easter The Paper Players - die cutting Die Cut Divas - animals Happy Little Stampers - anything goes with dies

Dynamic Duos combined with CAS Colours and Sketches

I am getting the hang of combining challenges....not sure if that's good or bad... In the past I would just put all my "creative energy" into one challenge and then just link up with others, if the card just happened to fit...but now I do that on purpose. Well, I'll see how it goes....                           Anyhow here is the card that came out of this: I did not want to add a sentiment - I 'll add it later, when I know who will get it. And here is a close -up: Challenges: Dynamic Duos CAS Colours and Sketches Addicted to Stamps and More Amusing Challenges Materials: Papertrey Background Basics: Super Stripes, Memory Box Chloe Stem die. --X-- Card for Maddy: You may know already about  Maddy ,  who  was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and went through chemotherapy treatment followed by a stem cell transplant from her (then) fifteen year old sister Melanie.  She now has a relapse and this car

Mirror Image Stamping with So Suzy and the MISTI

Hi Everyone, I am so happy to be part of this wonderful event - the collaboration between So Suzy and the MISTI from My Sweet Petunia doing mirror image stamping.  This event is going on for the ENTIRE  MONTH! We are demonstrating the  Mirror Image Stamp    which coordinates with the Misti Stamping Tool! All month long, different bloggers will post a card using the  Mirror Image Stamp .  In my tutorial today, I will show you how use the  Mirror Image Stamp  on your cards. You can basically double your stamp supplies that way! The  mirror image stamp  is  a 4.25" x 5.5" piece of red rubber with no foam backing. So much larger than the other mirror image stamps out there and therefore much more useful! Mirror Image stamp ,  Two Cats in a Tree If you want a video tutorial on how to do this I can highly recommend you watch THIS VIDEO on youtube. Explains it all in very little time! Or you can see the same thing on my photo tutorial. With mirror
