Simply Create Too #51

There is a new challenge starting at the Simply Create Too challenge blog - the theme is SNOW or USE ONLY WHITE. You have two weeks to play in it!

I made my own embossing paste for this card - the recipe you can find  HERE. It costs literally nothing and its quick and easy. When I first made it I was worried, that it would flake off, but that has not happenend.  It stayed silky smooth and pliable.

I took one of my TCW stencils, took a PTI star die and masked the star of the stencil with washi tape. I then smeared the embossing paste onto the stencil, which I had taped onto textured card stock and let it dry.

I die cut two stars using glitter paper, mounted them on dimensional tape and "hung" them on a silver string. The sentiment is from Mama Elephant - Merry Greetings.

I am also entering this card into:
 CHNC challenge - anything Christmas
Simon Says Monday Challenge - it's a Mystery

I got inspired to make this card by a wonderful card from Andrea - Bluetenstempel is her blog, you can visit and check it out.

Thanks for visiting me today - have a great weekend and keep stamping!

Wow! I see a lot of projects and this one is really impressive! I love the simplicity of the color palette. Very elegant! And the hanging stars are a beautiful touch. But what REALLY surprised me was that YOU MADE YOUR OWN PASTE!!! I have never seen that before. In fact, I didn't know that it was possible! Thank you for sharing your beautiful card with us this week for the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge. Not only is it gorgeous to look at, but you've taught me something too! ~Michelle

Cornelia, this is a lovely WoW with the pretty stars. Loved reading the recipe (and am wondering how many jars of the Embossing paste I have drying at home!). Your DIY paste looks lovely with your star stencil, and it certainly created a beautiful card. TFS & congrats on being highlighted at the Playground. Happy T-Day & TFS

Katzelkraft - Stampotique Raven

Hi Everyone, Do you know that   Katzelkraft has aquired Stampotique stamps? This fun raven is designed by Daniel Torrente (#6314). I used an old background from my stashs.  I stamped the bird and colored it with alcohol ink markers.  I brushed distrss ink onto the background and added some pattern with the   Mandala Magic stencil  from Funky Fossil Designs.I used one of the border stamps on the left for more interest.  Stamped the sentiment  and doodled a frame around the sentiment.Added a googly eye to the bird and drew in some eye lashes.  The stamps I used are from the following sets: Spiral Borders - KTZ286,  Whatchamacallit  - KTZ276  (FRANCE) Spiral Borders  - KTZ286 , Whatchamacallit  - KTZ276 (USA) Hope you liked this - I'll be back next Wednesday with more Katzelkraft inspiration.  Thanks for visiting! Happy Stamping! Linking up with: Simon Says Wednesday challenge  - fur or feathers

And we are celebrating this wonderful occasion with a special blog hop! You may have arrived from the wonderful Giada , our Italian contingent :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY Suzanne! Combined So Suzy and The Ton Blog Hop

Hi Everyone, I am sooooo excited to be part of this amazing event - a combined hop between So Suzy Stamps and The Ton! I have been eyeing The Ton stamps and dies for quite a while - they are just gorgeous! And So Suzy - well you have seen their stamps on my blog - they are simply fabulous! I also love that they are made from rubber - its different stamping with them. Its much better for generational stamping and they don't stick to your paper when you use your Misti. You may have arrived from the fabulous  Eunji - its a hard act to follow her.... I got those gorgeous  Peonies Dies  from The Ton and die cut them with water color paper. Spritzed Dylusion inks on a sheet of plastic and dipped the dies into the colors. Mounted them onto black card stock. Added the So Suzy Birthday sentiment - heat embossed in white. Lastly I added a strip of envelope liner paper at the bottom. Here are my supplies: So Suzy Birthday sentiment ,  Peo...
